You know you've arrived when you spend your Friday night hand washing your wood floors with your ex-boyfriend's old t-shirt - the one you used to sleep in - while watching Waiting to Exhale.
Just exactly where you have arrived? Yeah, well, that's up for debate.
I think it's in the vicinity of half way between misery and peace
ReplyDeleteThat's great. I love the combination of use of sleeping t-shirt to wash floor and watching Waiting to Exhale!

Baby needs a Swiffer.
ReplyDeleteI think you have just left relationship hell and entered relationship limbo. Next up: heaven.

ReplyDeleteThat reminds me of that scene in The Truth About Cats & Dogs where Janine Garaffalo's character is using the guy's t-shirt to scrub (I mean really scrub) her toilet. Rent it, if you haven't. It's a funny movie, and I think more therapeutic than Waiting to Exhale (although watching Angela Basset torch her husband's cars & toys is really satisfying). You're making progress.
ReplyDeleteSounds like progress to me... And sounds like a pretty good evening (me, I just watched the election of Miss France 2009 (yawn) and am about to put Neil Diamond's "The Jazz Singer" on as my ultimate comfort-sob-myself-to-sleep film).
ReplyDeleteGo, girl!
I think you're in a place with beautiful wood floors and an old Tshirt as a rag. You, my dear, are gettin' to the place where the going gets good.
