Hllelujah.

You know on Grey's Anatomy when a doctor loses a patient and they're all pissed off and distraught?

That's me today.

I let a big stoopid typo slip. And it was pointed out by a client. And makes Corporate Behemoth looks dumbdumbdumbdumbdumb. And makes my ears burn with shame.

And I know that nobody died and I've caught a gazillion typos and of course one would slip by because I am, after all, only human - editor or not. But I don't need this fallibility pointed out, OK? Because I am keeping the Corporate Behemoth / wedding planning / moving / owning three houses train on the tracks the very best I can, OK?

But in other news?

We got an offer on my house. After a mere eight months, my house is under contract.

I don't know whether to laugh or throw up.

  1. both seem appropriate.

i totally understand the typo thing. ugh. we do lots of print work for clients and my bosses wife is the copy editor. she's good. damn good. a couple of times she has missed one though and it's ugly. no fun.

    congrats on the contract.

  2. Ohhhhhh, I hate that. Is there a dislike button on this post? I've (clearly and thankfully) never been a doctor - or anything quite that important, as a matter of fact - but I really can't imagine feeling WORSE about my work life than the times I've realized I missed a typo.

So, I'm feeling your pain here.

However - great news, big news about the house!!! Woohoo!!!

  4. Do both.
I'm sorry about the screw up--those days make me feel sick, too.
But the house! What a blessing!

  5. Congrats on the contract! Just think, soon you will have more furniture. Soon you will have so much free time, you won't know what to do with yourself. Won't that be nice?

  7. All I can tell you is: thank Christ on a cupcake that someone, SOMEone, cares about that sort of thing, chacha. Thank god. Because you're totally, fully right...common but heinous errors like their's and must of make the writer look double dumb...and they definitely have no place in any kind of corporate communication. I hope, hope, hope it wasn't all public an everything.

But...it's blood under the bridge now chach. fugheddabowdit. Time for cake and flowers and that bodaceous white dress....
