What passes for a post.

I'm in a bit of a basketball coma. March Madness? I *heart* you.

Lil' Frankfurter is also enjoying March Madness. Except instead of basketball, he is really insane over the yellow squeaky ball, which, mercifully, doesn't squeak anymore. This sweet, shy little dude has learned the art of growling and then barking until I throw the ball.

We played this for about seven hours today. I'm not kidding. I worked from home today, and he didn't sleep all day. I should be more, you know, alpha about the whole thing, but his little growl sounds almost like a sigh and is just so damn cute.

Now, finally, the doxies are exhausted from supervising me all day and are konked out on the couch. And I? Am answering messages sent to my profile on an online dating site.

Evidently, I write a funny profile.

Today, a friend and I talked about the difference between not being over a guy and not being over a situation. We agreed that I'm over The Ex-Boyfriend Formerly Known as Mr. Wonderful, but perhaps not over The Relationship With The Ex-Boyfriend Formerly Known as Mr. Wonderful. And that's ok. And an important distinction. And doesn't mean that I should sit in seclusion until I'm again a blank slate.

I talked about this with my folks a few days ago. And my sweet daddy told me that yes, yes I totally should do online dating again. So, for the first time pretty much, oh, ever, I did something because my dad told me to.

And so far, it's pretty fun. And not terribly scary because I can e-mail, you know? It's not anywhere near as frightening as interacting with a real, live, three-dimensional person. After all, I don't have to leave the comfort of my natural habitat: the couch.

Online dating- good girl, listen to daddy! My best partner in crime has been using match.com and she has really enjoyed it. This is crazy though- a guy I dated a long time ago (and was totally bizarre) actually contacted her and said he found her attractive, etc, and then went on about himself (he had never met my BFF). She remembered the uniqueness of his first name, called me, and asked if it was him, and of course, it was. He told her the biggest lines of BS about himself in the email, and his profile was also BS- everything from his age to what he did for a living. Crazy that in this city of millions he actually came across my BFF online! Oh, and yes, she messed with his mind a bit first before declining his offer of a date.

you gotta wonder said...

Given some of the interesting stories the on-line forums have generated for the Diva, this should make for some fabulous blog-fodder.

BTW - "online dating" is a bit of a misnomer because you actual date in person, you just meet online. When you meet in person you get to find out if they're big fat liars (literally) or if they're shy, sweet little dudes whose growls sound like sighs.

Please keep us posted!

My brother does the online dating thing too. But he has found that Speed Dating is better. It lets you get a better sense of the person.

ooo! I have always wanted to try online dating! It sounds so fun and adventurous in a safe non-risky but daring kinda way. But, unfortunately, I'm married so don't think I should try it. (I hope you are giggling with me)

Hey, Xanadu is on. I don't know why but I thought of you and your doxies. Can they skate? I see another movie script in your future. Isn't it about time we had another roller skating magical musical?

You will be disappointed to know that my daughter and her boyfriend payed good money to see Nick's movie today. I didn't know they were going or I would have told them of your post. No surprises. They said it was lame. They would much rather of seen your dogs in action. (squeaking or not)

Have a good Sunday!

I meant to add another thought to my online dating comments. I've been married 20 years so its not as adventurous as it used to be. I wanted to say that the grass is always greener and I will live vicariously through you. It sounds so exciting to be on such an adventure.

(my word verification this time is coiding - sounds naughty for some reason)
