Rocks and love.

A new week, a new episode of Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michaels.

To recap: Bret appears to be falling hardest for the girl who is the meanest. Also, in a blinding display of Guyness, Bret faulted the contestants who clapped when he announced that three more girls would be joining the competition. He expected the contestants to be pissed, because they should be there just for him and want to fight for his love. It caused him to pout.

Let's all take a moment to let the dry heaves pass.

Ok, so the three new girls were standing right there. And the current contestants had just gotten to know them. And to not welcome them would be downright rude.

You can be crazy about a man, but you still have to be yourself. And that means being gracious. As my mama says, "You are a lady of grace and dignity and you shall conduct yourself as such."

So, go fuck yourself, Bret.

I have a bigger rock issue and I need some assistance.

Between two ex-boyfriends, I have two pairs of diamond earrings, a diamond necklace and a very good created sapphire tennis bracelet.

All of this bling was put away after the demise of the relationships from which it originated. And now? Now, it seems insane to have some really nice jewelry that I never wear.

I asked a friend who works for a jeweler about my options. Basically, I can pawn the bling or try to put it on consignment. I either way, I won't make enough money off of it to translate into new, nice jewelry.

So, I'm thinking I need to find a way to rid this bling of its bad juju. Some sort of mindful and meaningful little ceremony that's all about me and moving forward. A little celebration about being rid of the past and grateful for my many blessings. And Valentine's Day is a perfect time for it, because who doesn't enjoy a little bling on Valentine's Day?

Any ideas?

Bling is so solid
Unlike ex and ex-ex- were
Bling outlasts bad dates.

OK - bad haikus prevail. Divest yourself of the memories, but not the rewards of time invested. Dang girl! You got bling!!! Way to work it!

She has a point... Although I just couldn't keep looking at it- bleck!

I say cash in now and buy some stock... now's the time to pick it up cheap, and you can thank the butt-wads later when your bling reaps retirement rewards... and they're stuck with their tiny, ah, stuff, and Lisa... ;o)

I am assuming they were given to you during the good times of your relationships. As bad as ex and ex-ex turned out to be for you, you still had good times, right? And those relationships helped make you the great person you are today, correct? Then I say keep it and wear it and remember the feeling in which it was given, not the end result. You won't get much for it, especially in these economic times, and every great woman deserves to have a little bling.

What about having them reset into another necklace, bracelet or ring? Keep the bling, but let a jeweler rework it for you to YOUR specifications.

Get a little flower pot, fill it with clean soil and bury the stuff for a while. I'm sure there's some perfect period of time for cleansing or grounding or purification? I don't know why but dirt seems like the perfect things for 'grounding' the negativity.
My crazy, cursing neighbor gave me some hand thrown wine glasses a while back and I took those down and looked at them a few days ago trying to decide what to do with them. I don't want bad juju hanging out in my home and I considered: tossing them; regifting them; taking them out back and smashing them with a hammer; hanging them from my bottle tree in such a way that she could see them there and that they would break in a good wind. Finally, I decided to fill them with dirt and plant herbs in them. They may end up being regifted to my kids homeschool co-op teachers, BUT I no longer feel the negativity from them. I feel like the dirt keeps them from being any sort of receiver or conductor for that. Ditto for your jewelry. I suppose a nice bowl of spring water on a full moon night might do the job just as well.

I'm with Cyndi. I would use the jewelry to create an entire new piece for yourself.

I'm doing this now. Making a pendant into a ring so tha I can enjoy it more.

I agree with the others - have a jeweler put all the stones into a new piece of jewelry - I had this done and am thrilled with the results.

Combine the sparkles
Into one new show stopper
Fab new bling for you!

I'd go for a reset--OR--crazy thought here--might there be a business opportunity? I have old bling that I can't pawn, but an online service where one swapped/sold bling to reset into their very own piece w/o the associated baggage?
Go to a good jeweler and ask them what they advise.
You kill me, watching that smut!

I don't think you need any kind of ceremony... you're healed, honey. I agree with the others. You should find a jeweler who will take all of it and turn it in to something new. I had a friend who did the same thing. She found a jeweler who, in exchange for a couple of the stones, gave her the new setting completely free. It can be your Freedom Bling, you know? Your valentine gift to yourself ;-)

Sell it and go out and buy yourself something, get a mani/pedi, a massage, a facial - something that is just for you and makes you feel good. Now, having said that, when I broke up with my ex I simply threw it all away. Yup, in the garbage it went. I figured he was trash and so were his gifts. (I was young and stupid, learn from me.)

Thank you for the recap because I really do love watching I just can't seem to get to the TV that no one else is using to watch it (only my daughter and I would watch it I think). Anyway, wear the bling! I wish I had more bling. Bling is bling. I'll try to think of a creative way to "cleanse" it if you haven't already. Let me just check my book of jewelry cleaning spells and charms and I'll get to ya! Hee hee.
