What? WHAT?

I ran to the grocery on my way home tonight. The guy behind me in the express line looked at my basket and then gave me a withering look.

He was a 50-something guy with not one, but two bags of brown sugar.

And I was a 30-something woman who was buying these three items:
  • Honey Maid Graham Crackers
  • Betty Crocker Triple Chocolate Frosting
  • Tampax
Dammit.

Don't you hate it when you realize stereotypes are stereotypes for a reason?

Shit.

I shop at my neighborhood store where I always, ALWAYS see someone I know. You know what I do for a living, and I totally get judged for my cart! You should see the looks I get when my cart contains hamburger buns, ice cream and three kinds of chips. I do buy veggies and such but it seems nobody ever sees me on those days!
(really, I buy lots of healthy stuff. I do)

At least you didn't have a bottle of booze and a can of whipped cream in there.

Recently I had to make an emergency late night run to the store from my new house - the lady behind me at checkout said "Wow - you have quite a night ahead of you"

I had a toilet plunger, a six pack of beer and a package of cookies.

*blush*
